Insurances

We work with nearly all insurance carriers.

We work with some as an “in-network” provider. For others, we perform your exam as an “out of network” provider. What do these terms mean?

1) “in-network”: For these insurances we perform your exam, Certain carriers like VSP and EYEMED allow you to purchase eyeglasses and contact lenses. When we are contracted with in-network carriers, you pay a portion for goods and services and we bill the insurance carrier for the remainder. We get paid DIRECTLY from your carrier.

2) “out-of-network”: We perform the same exam, you can buy your eyeglasses and contact lenses but you pay for the total cost of goods and services. You submit the receipts to your insurance provider and they reimburse you directly (subject to that carrier’s rules).

Medicaid: We are not MEDICAID providers.

MEDICARE: Medicare will cover the medical eye exams, Medicare DOES NOT pay for refractions (eyeglass checks). Our office does not provide “durable medical equipment” (DME), like free eyeglasses after cataract surgery.

If you’d like to know if we are in-network or out of network with your carrier please call us at 253-220-2563. If you have questions about being in-network or out of network you want to call your respective insurance carrier.
