Most insurance plans in the United States like EYEMED and VSP cover routine eye exams and other eye care services to some extent. Some plans may cover the cost of a basic eye exam but require additional payment for more advanced services, such as retinal imaging or specialized tests. At Tacoma eye we do make you aware of such costs so there is no confusion. For example: digital retinal imaging incurs a patient cost of $39.

Our office accepts several insurances, most commonly vision service plan, also known as VSP and EYEMED. As of July 1 2023 we will not be accepting the MEDICAID or Apple health plans.
